This is a great improvement over lightroom 1 which I used since it originally came out. It is great for organizing, categorizing and doing almost all of the needed adjustments. So far I have not needed to purchase Photoshop, but I do use this in conjunction with Capture NX2 which I also think is extremely good and a great upgrade from the first version. When importing Nikon images you do get better results if you import them using Nikon own software, especially if you shoot raw images. They start off much sharper and needing less processing. But after that I like using lightroom for various editing tasks to supplement what is available in NX2Customer Review: Improved Lightroom

I got the disk version of the upgrade, and surprisingly there was no written manual included with the box packaging. To find out how to navigate and use the new functions, and there are many, you have to go through on line manuals and flash videos. Call me an old timer, but I like to go through indexed manuals, so I can learn at my own speed, when I find the need to explore new functions. Adobe cuts corner by not including a written manual, it's just cheap from a dominant software designer.Customer Review: l\Light Room 2

lightroom 2 appears to be a great product however it is slow freezes needs more work on it reading the blogs on 2.1 needs much more work wait for six months until you purchase
