Customer Review: The Sync Developing Settings Feature alone is huge time saver!

The sync developing feature is a time saver compared to Photoshop. If you got a bunch of photos done in almost identical lighting conditions, studio or beach, you can fine-tune the develop settings on one image, select all images, and click "Synchronize". This feature is especially valuable for editing multi-shot panoramas, as described in this book:

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 is the best product I've ever used for editing photos. While it doesn't have the drilled down specificity of Adobe Photoshop, this product allows photographers to edit a quantity of photographs quickly, accurately and precisely. Lightroom is great - it's the combo of Lightroom and Vista (Vista and anything is a bad combo) that drove me nuts. I kept getting "The temporary file path is not valid. Lightroom cannot start" error message whenever I tried to open Lightroom after doing a fresh install. After a bit of research and a trying a lot of different solutions, I was able to open the program. So far, so good. Customer Review: Beastdude

As a very active amature photographer I take many pictures per week. Work flow and time management are always an issue. I have been using Photoshop and Bridge as my software for file management and post processing. It is very good but still takes a lot of time. I have known of Lightroom for a while but did not think I needed to spend the extra money for an expanded version of Bridge. I learned more about the abilities of Lightroom so I decided to try the free 30 day download from Adobe and was totally hooked. I also used the Adobe Lightroom Classroom in a book, and I was up and running well in a few days. There is a learning curve involved with this software but the time invested is paid back many times over.
In a normal outing I will take 2 to 3 hundred photos, come home and download to my computer. In the past it would take hours to go through them and make my picks and rejects, then more time to do basic post processing. With lightroom I can do that in 30 to 45 minutes. That for me has been an amazing time saver. Also I am able to use my photos much faster.
The added bonus is the file management. I thought I had it under control before but now I feel much more confidant about finding, sorting and using my photos.
I highly recommend this software, if you want to organize and touch up photos faster, this is an awesome product.

Lightroom is an awesome tool to organize your photos, while performing a variety of effects and fixes on them. The software is divided into 5 sections, depending on if you want to view your photo library, fix your photos, view them in a slideshow, make prints, or create web galleries.
I am not a professional but I have alot of photos I need to keep organized. I used iPhoto, but between it and Photoshop, there were some steps that just slowed down the process. Basically Lightroom is a combination of an organizational application with basic photo editing capabilities. It integrates well with Photoshop for more advanced editing. For most of my needs though, I rarely have to edit outside of Lightroom
